Build Technology Capability

I was engaged by Prime Trading Group to build their Technology Capability. Historically, IT had always been in the hands of one IT Manager, and IT was seen as “the guy you call when the printer is broken”, and not a strategic partner.
As a result manual processes reigned, error-ridden spreadsheet empires took precedent over clear systems and process, and the business was fully on prem, all with no strategy to solve it and no team to deliver the solution.

Within 7 months I had built a Technology team of 6 people from nothing. Together, we:
Delivered phase 1 of a CRM Transformation programme, automating clunky manual processes
Cleaned up PowerBI reporting and made sure it was accurate and effective
Started a programme to replace a key operations software to save time and money
Saved £60k annually by cancelling old and unnecessary subscriptions and tools.
Created new product development strategy from the ground up, and delivered first new product in almost 2 years

The business started getting on the right track with it’s technology - using it to save time rather than just add complexity. We automated manual processes, saved money and headaches, and created a strategy to take it forward.
I became the first ever Technology Director in the company’s history, at the age of 31, and served in that role until I left to start Big Lab Technology.
